Willie Parker of the Pittsburgh Steelers hasn’t played since week 3. He has been bothered by a sprained knee and has been trying to come back for weeks. However, it looks like he may be suiting up this week. He has practiced two days in a row and is listed as day to day. This means that there is a good chance he could start this week and may be a good fantasy option. Mike Tomlin, the Steelers coach has said that Parker is looking good and he does expect him to play this week. If you are a Willie Parker owner, you should consider playing him this week and check back on his status before the weekend to make sure he will be in the lineup. If he is able to go, he should see the bulk of the carries, 15 – 20, and should be able to rush for about 80 – 100 yards if healthy.
Recommendation: He was averaging 100 yards a game before getting hurt so if he is able to play, he should be able to put up some good numbers. Thus playing a healthy Parker is a no-brainier.
I’ve very happy with Willie’s performance on Monday, and he looks like he will continue to put up solid numbers the rest of the season. I hope you took the Commish’s advice and played Parker, unless you had another solid pick that can carry the ball 20 times and score a TD.
Looks like it was to early to jump on his bandwagon again. Willie Parker will not play in Week 10 after playing in week 9 and having decent numbers, he will miss what they say will be only one game. Let’s hope, I need a healthy Parker down the stretch.
