Week 4 Start and Sit Running Backs

There are  plenty of times when bye weeks are rocking the world of owners at the running back position, but this isn’t one of them. With a couple of back-ups going on bye in week 4, owners will pretty much have their regulars to depend on.  Going into Sunday, the big question mark is Ray Rice. His status is really a game-time decision, but luckily for owners his game is going at 10 am so there will be plenty of time to switch out in case he doesn’t go. Check back first thing to make sure.

Week 4 fantasy football must start running backs.

  • Adrian Peterson – He is just keeps getting fed and loves to eat.
  • Lesean McCoy – Is getting a lot of good touches in the new offense.
  • Jamaal Charles – What is not to love about his production.
  • Doug Martin – Continues to get the work, but not the yards owners would like.
  • Matt Forte – Does so much in the offense.
  • Alfred Morris – Picking up where he left off last year.
  • Marshawn Lynch – Should see plenty of work and maybe an end-zone.
  • Trent Richardson – This is the week he gets a good amount of work.
  • DeMarco Murray – Nice to see the Cowboys sticking with one runner.
  • Arian Foster – Still the primary back and gets the bulk of the carries.
  • Darren McFadden – They try to get him the ball as much as they can.
  • Bilal Powell – Going to be the workhorse in week 4.

The next group of running backs would be good RB2 or flex options for week 4.

  • Chris Johnson – Should see plenty of carries.
  • Lamar Miller – Getting more work and try to make the most of it.
  • CJ Spiller – Can make something happen at any time.
  • Darren Sproles – Will see some catches so this is for PPR leagues.
  • LeVeon  Bell – We will finally get to this runner in a featured role.
  • Bernard Pierce – Could be an even better play if Rice doesn’t go.
  • Ray Rice – If he is going he should be a decent start. Check at game time.
  • Giovanni Bernard – The kid can make plays and should see more work.
  • Maurice Jones Drew – Continues to get carries, but the team lacks any offense.
  • Ryan Matthews – Losing carries, but still gets the bulk of the work.
  • Knowshon Moreno – Still have the trust of Manning and will see the early work.

The next group of running backs would be okay options for flex in week 4.

  • Reggie Bush – Says he is ready to go and should see a good amount of work.
  • Jason Snelling – Should see the goal-line work plus some additional carries.
  • Joique Bell – In PPR leagues his value goes up more.
  • Steven Ridley – Can easily get double digit carries, but what will he do with them.
  • Fred Jackson – Still able to get points and make owners happy.
  • Pierre Thomas – Going to find a little more room to run this week.

The following running backs I’m staying away from in week 4.

  • David Wilson – Can’t trust him or any Giants back.
  • BenJarvus Green-Ellis – Gio is making a strong case to get more work.
  • Brandon Bolden – Not ready to put him in the lineup yet.
  • Rashard Mendenhall – Has to show owners more before he gets any status.
  • Ben Tate – The match-up isn’t that great.
  • Willis McGahee – Isn’t quite ready yet, but could see some more work this week.
