As a fantasy sports owner of Donovan McNabb I have to wonder what is going on with game lately.  Has McNabb lost his edge? I have to ask myself in week 12, with the playoffs on the line, if I should I Sit or Start Donovan McNabb.

The reality is that he has been getting picked a lot this year and doesn’t seem as mobile as he was in the past.  Maybe that would be a given, but his reluctance to extend the play is even more disturbing.  It seems as if he is so worried about making a bigger mistake that he has learned to just accept the smaller ones.  I’m not sure if that is a sign of wisdom as he is has thrown picks in three straight games, and is on pace this year to set a new career record in interceptions.  In addition, his QB rating is the lowest in the past 5 years and he has fumbled in 3 of the past 4 games.  I’m not sure if I’m seeing a flash of brilliance or a brilliance gone in a flash.

Most would say, but he still puts up numbers, but look at his matchup in week 12.  He is playing the Ravens, which is ranked 2nd in the league in picks, 6th in passing yards per game, and 2nd in the league for lowest completion percentage.  If his own numbers don’t scare you then consider that he only saving grace is the passing yards and this team doesn’t give them up easy.  Plus, you can already take some points off because they will get to him.

With this said, I know McNabb is a good player, but this week I don’t this I would start him if I have a better choice.  There are some good plays on the wire that may be better.  I would recommend Jeff Garcia, Kerry Collins, and Thyler Thigpen if available.
