I’m watching the playoffs this weekend and noticing a few things that may help my fantasy football 2009 team.  One, Joe Flacco is certainly a better QB that many give him credit for.  In fact, I’m wondering why isn’t Joe rookie of the year.  Where is Matt at these days.  Not that they both didn’t have good years, and maybe over the course of the season Matt did enough to deserve the award, but why was Joe not even considered.  There wasn’t one vote for him as the #1 candidate for Rookie of the Year, despite being one of two rookies to play every game and lead their team to the playoffs. However, Joe has now engineered his team to two playoff victories and into the division championship game, which is far better than anyone would’ve expected his team to do at this point.  Not taking anything away from Matt, his performance was outstanding this year and his team was in even more desperate times than the Ravens.  The playoffs are a different story though, and most fans will tell you that they would rather have their team win than one player win, so I think Joe is in a good position and will certainly be a star in the NFL.

Two, Darren Sproles is the future of RBs in the league. I’m already looking at picking him up for sure next year as one of my backup RBs.  His performance last week continues to show that his explosive speed and great ball handling will continue to make his a consistent part of the offense in San Diego, or where ever he may go. I’m not saying LT won’t matter, but Sproles will probably have a breakout year next year for sure.
