Going Yard – Week 10 Game Changers

As if we didn’t know it was going to be the case, Brees was easily the top the fantasy performer for week 10 by lighting up Cowboys in front of a home crowd.  His 392 passing yards with 4 touchdowns surpassed our expectations and gave fantasy owners a helpful boost in points that most other quarterbacks wouldn’t see. His performance was the best of the week for sure, but there were some other notable fantasy players that were Going Yard in week 10, and could have been game changers for fantasy owners.

Top fantasy football game changers for week 10.

  • Drew Brees – Each week one performance is picked that should be the best in fantasy football based on match-up with our First and Five segment, and in week 10 we featured Drew Brees as our the top fantasy start.  It was good to see him come through and put up the kind of numbers an analysis would expect and helps validate the long hours spent combing through the match-ups looking for the key ingredients that could spell fantasy victory.  He lead the NFL in week 10 in passing yards, passing completions, and passing touchdowns.  It was classic Brees.
  • Peyton Manning – Not to be too out done, Manning also tied Brees with 4 passing touchdowns, but fell short 60 on topping Brees with 330 passing yards on the day.
  • Andre Brown – Don’t look now but we have a new back for the Giants. This one you might be able to actually count. Brown, who ran great last year, has been sidelined most of the year and is now back and ready to go with fresh legs.  He topped the NFL in week 10 with 30 carries. He broke over 100 yards and got a touchdown. With Wilson done for the year, the other back almost useless, it’s going to be Brown for the rest of the season. I’d expect to see him get at least 20 carries a game going forward. Pick him up now if he is actually out there in your league.
  • Lesean Mccoy – Shady continues to be the man and rack up yards in that quick moving offense.  Mccoy lead the NFL in week 10 with 155 rushing yards.  He did this on 25 carries allowing the Eagles a change to close it out on the road. He will be a RB1 no matter who they are playing.
  • Rishard Matthews – He lead the NFL this week in receptions with 11 totaling 120 yards. He also scored 2 touchdowns in a breakout performance for him. Matthews hadn’t had a touchdown all year until this game and hasn’t seen more than 4 catches in any game. This could be a chase game and you could wind up using a waiver pick on a player that doesn’t see these type of numbers again this year.
  • AJ Green – Green lead the NFL in week 10 in receiving yards with 151 yards and 1 touchdown.  Most of the yards and the touchdown came on one play that was a Hail-Mary tipped into the arms of Green, but in fantasy it doesn’t matter. He will be a WR1 no matter what.
