Jay Cutler has a new starting job with the Chicago Bears. I for one am glad that Denver finally let him go. It’s obvious that the trade rumors rubbed Jay the wrong way and I don’t think that Denver Coach McDaniels would have ever been able to win Cutler’s trust back; that bridge was burned. Now, it looks like everyone is going to get a nice fresh start. McDaniels will find a QB that he can mold and dictate. Cutler will finally find out what it feels like to be on a team with a good defense. I’m guessing the Bears have a better chance of making the play-offs this season. I’d call it a sure thing if they actually had some brand name wide receivers, but they don’t, so it’s still iffy.
So, the question of the day: will Cutler be a good starting QB for my fantasay roster? My answer to that is yes. I don’t think he’ll go in the first round (QBs hardly ever do), but I think he’ll be in the first five QBs to get drafted. I think that Cutler has proven himself with the Broncos and that gives him confidence that some QBs don’t have. You need confidence to be a good QB. Cutler believes in himself and I think that he’ll go to Chicago and rise to the occasion. The only question remains is whether or not the Chicago WRs can rise with him. My guess is that a couple of them will. After all, who the heck was Denver WR Eddie Royal before Cutler started throwing bombs his way? Exactly, some rookie that could have easliy wound up on the bench as a back-up, back-up somewhere with a lesser QB. Cutler made him a shinging star last season and I’m guessing that he’ll be able to find at least one decent target on the Bear’s roster; who that is, I don’t know since the Bears previous quarterbacks threw more interceptions that completions.
