Fantasy Baseball Week 3 Hot Players
Baseball is starting to heat up and that means fantasy baseball is heating up as well. The following are the fantasy baseball week 3 hot players. There are some big surprises to start the season in terms of overall teams. It’s nice to see the Royals sitting at the top of their division along with the Blue Jays in a tie for first with the Red Sox. Both teams are starting off really hot and they are showing some grit in terms of trying to maintain it. It will be great to see if they can hold on to their energy level and are able to sustain this type of effort for the entire season. However, there are some old consistent teams there that are showing why they should be considered one of the best. The Cardinals are coming out strong with Pujols having a typically great MVP type year so far and they are leading the MLB in winning percentage. The Dodgers are also coming out hot with Manny and the Blue Crew showing why they won their division last year and went to the division finals. These teams look like they have the winning formula so now it’s time to give you a boost in terms of players that can help you win.
Fantasy Baseball Week 3 Hot Players: Batters
- Russell Branyan – 2 HR’s, 7 RBI’s, 7 Runs Scored, 417 OBP – He is still available in most leagues and is going to put up consistent numbers for any fantasy owner.
- Rickie Weeks – 3 HR’s, 7 RBI’s, 6 Runs Scored, but this is not what he normally does so it may not last. However, he is a good hitter and should start to show some speed on top of the unexpected power.
- Dexter Fowler – 6 SB’s, 7 Runs Scored, and seems to burning up the bases with 9 on the season. He is also hitting up 350 OBP and plays everyday. As players go, he is a good fill in or role player for teams that need stolen bases.
Fantasy Baseball Week 3 Hot Player: Pitchers
- Latroy Hawkins – I never thought it would come to this, but he is announced as the Texas closer so for owners that need some saves he would be an immediate pickup.
- Nick Blackburn – 14 innings, 2 wins, 7 K’s, 1.93 ERA, but he is pitching a little above his normal. He could be hot a for a while, but will not continue this pace. However, he will nab some wins and with Mauer coming back they might go on an extended winning streak.
- Phil Hughes - Just recalled from AAA and in his first game of the year for the Yankees he pitched 6 scoreless innings to get the win with 6 K’s. He is the pitcher of the future for the Yankees and this looks to be a permannet situation. Grab this guy if you need a starting who will get wins and srikeouts.
