2009 Fantasy Football is about half way over and the following is 5 players who are making a huge impact this season and have become no doubt play makers and must have fantasy options despite where they started this year. Fantasy Football 2009 has had a lot of surprises and some old reliables coming back, but the following 5 fantasy football players are people that may not have been on the radar when the season started but are now unquestionable fantasy players who you need to start every week. Kellen Winslow. eventually, the move to Tampa Bay to play with the Buccaneers ought to rejuvenate his career. In 2009, with so a bunch of uncertainty at the QB role, it’s probably sound to assume he won’t be generating stats similar to ‘07. However, he ought to be a viable target for Byron Leftwich, in addition to a safety net for Josh Freeman (as soon as he’s prepared), so his catch total may be decent.
The following are more Fantasy Football Tight Ends that could be busts for fantasy football owners. Read more…
SAN DIEGO (AP)—LaDainian Tomlinson(notes) has been ruled out of the San Diego Chargers’ home opener against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday due to a sprained ankle, just the second time the star running back will miss a start due to injury in his brilliant nine-year career.
If you haven’t already, try to get Sproles. LT is an over rated has been. Running backs his size don’t last too long in the big leagues. If you drafted him like I did in round 1, just keep him in your back pocket for now.
I’m watching the playoffs this weekend and noticing a few things that may help my fantasy football 2009 team. One, Joe Flacco is certainly a better QB that many give him credit for. In fact, I’m wondering why isn’t Joe rookie of the year. Where is Matt at these days. Not that they both didn’t have good years, and maybe over the course of the season Matt did enough to deserve the award, but why was Joe not even considered. There wasn’t one vote for him as the #1 candidate for Rookie of the Year, despite being one of two rookies to play every game and lead their team to the playoffs. Read more…
This year I had the unique honor of drafting first in one league, as well as the unlucky honor of drafting last in one league. Normally this wouldn’t be that big of a deal and just a coincidence, but there is an added twist to this story that makes it great for using as a test case for fantasy football draft research and how it effects teams. It wasn’t just my team that had this coincidence this year, but FantasyGirl also plays in both leagues and had the exact same draft spots but in reverse leagues. The league I drafted first, she drafted last, and vice-versa in the other league. This makes for an interesting observation of how the fantasy football draft research can make or break your season before you’ve even had a chance to pick. Read more…
This hasn’t been one of the better seasons for the Chargers, but they are getting some good play from Darren Sproles. With LT being bothered by a toe injury this year, Sproles has gotten more playing time and a chance to showcase his skills for the NFL. Like Turner who ran in the shadow of LT for many years and is now having a breakout season starting for Atlanta, Sproles could also be the one to provide a huge boost to a running game if given the opportunity to produce on a regular basis. It appears from reports on various sources that Plaxico Burress has been shot in the leg, and some reports are saying that in fact he shot himself by accident. He was already not going to play this week, but this should mean that he will be out for quit some time. Steve Smith is already picked up in most leagues but if not, he would be the first choice, along with Dominic Hixon. Both should see their roles and points continue to increase with Burress being out and Toomer being covered by the top corners. Read more…

The Eagles are done. Drop McNabb, keep Westbrook as a secondary RB if you have him and start looking on your wires for another pick if you have the chance. Better yet, if you got some moron in your league, make the trade if your deadline is still open. Reid doesn’t give a damn anymore, and McNabb is an over rated has been. Westbrook is too banged up to be a solid consistent RB anymore. Read more…
