OK, so I’m trying to figure out why week 9 seems so tricky to manage in every one of my leagues but one. Then it hits me… the one where my team sucks doesn’t matter. But for the others… this week’s bye teams can cause havoc to some of the top teams. I mean… Brees, Rivers, Gore, Tomlinson… 4 of the top 10 players in the league in one week! And check this… I have three of these guys on ONE team. Ouch. Read the rest of this entry »

Week 9 is a Champ Killer
Waiting For Fast Willie Parker – Fantasy Football Advice Week 9
Willie Parker of the Pittsburgh Steelers hasn’t played since week 3. He has been bothered by a sprained knee and has been trying to come back for weeks. However, it looks like he may be suiting up this week. He has practiced two days in a row and is listed as day to day. This means that there is a good chance he could start this week and may be a good fantasy option. Mike Tomlin, the Steelers coach has said that Parker is looking good and he does expect him to play this week. Read the rest of this entry »

Fantasy Football Jewel: A Good Tight End
On Monday nights, some of us are trailing in fantasy points hoping that our remaining players do something worthy enough to squeak by a win. Monday night’s Titans vs. Colts proved that a good tight end can be a boon to any fantasy football team. Dallas Clark, the Colt’s starting tight end, racked up the points with 7 receptions, 94 yards, and 2 TDs. If you have a good tight end on Monday night football, it does wonders for your optimism and gives you a better chance than most. Read the rest of this entry »

If you are like me and drafted Westbrook for your first round draft pick, get ready for the come back baby!! Westbrook is back and proved it yesterday.

Fantasy Football Tips Week 8: 5 Breakout Players
Fantasy Football Week 8: 5 Breakout Players
Every week in sports there are some breakout players that step up to the challenge and make the leap from back-up to starter, even if it for just one week. These players can make your week if you know who they are and have the confidence to start them. For example, I played Coach last week in a fantasy league, he had a couple of byes and ended up bringing in little known player named Donnie Avery. Well Avery ended up having a great game with a TD and good receptions, and of course beat me by a couple of points. Picking up Avery from the wire at the time seemed a little risky, but proved to be the right play. Here are a couple of players that might be surprise hits for you team this week. Quarterbacks On The Bubble – Fantasy Football Tips
I’ve never been one to draft a QB high and stand by that decision as a solid fantasy sports tip. Given the fact that each week there are usually more QB’s as the top point earners on the waiver wire than any other position. The reason is that most teams need only one or maybe two QB’s (one for a bye week). This means if you are in a 12 man league, than there would still be at least 10 starting QB’s on the wire for any given week. QB’s don’t share throws and they don’t have to fight for receptions, so basically any QB on any given week could produce good numbers. The key is to look at the match-ups and determine which one will have an easier time. The fact that every year there is always at least one QB taken in the first round is mind blowing. Granted, Tom Brady’s numbers last year were out of this world, and in fact, was the greatest single football season for a QB, but no one can expect that every year. Read the rest of this entry »

If you are like me, you have Reggie Bush in one of your fantasy leagues. However, there may be some good options out there right now that could help so up your team in this current situation. Let’s break down some possible available plays and pick-ups given the state of the NFL without Reggie Bush. Read the rest of this entry »

Buy Tickets For A NFL Football Game
It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a live NFL football game. It’s not that I wouldn’t buy tickets for a NFL football game. It’s not that I wouldn’t mind going either, but living in Orange County, CA limits my choices. I have to drive or fly 2 hours to see any NFL teams, and being as they are not local it takes some of the spirit out of rooting for them. I have to wonder why the NFL hasn’t stepped up to one of the many proposals on the table in bringing a team to the Los Angeles area, but I guess it doesn’t surprise me.

Never under estimate the OTHER guy’s greed…
Almost halfway through the season, and as I watch the Broncos get owned, I had a thought…..never under estimate the the bad teams from last year. Any team, can beat any other team, on any given day. Question is; Did these guys bring their bollocks to the field tonight or not? I found this post and it shows a perfect example of what I’m talking about. (http://www.nflgridirongab.com/2008/08/27/potential-sleeper-and-disappointment-teams-in-2008/)
“With the new season almost upon us, everyone begins to think of which team will surprise and which will disappoint. To save your struggles, I’m here to help. Here are three sleepers, and three disappointments.

How To Play Fantasy Football Leagues
These days it’s pretty hard to find someone that isn’t playing fantasy football and participating in fantasy football leagues. There are many ways to play, and lots of sites to use to get information, scores, updates, and even play a few games. However, each game play has different rules, stats, and points, so it’s important to know not only what game you are playing, but what stats and points count for that league.
We’ll break down some of the various fantasy football options, as well as the considerations for each one. The reason is that depending on what points or stats the fantasy game is using, the players and teams can look quite differently. Read the rest of this entry »
The Hell with Fantasy Projections!
The hell with projections. I say TRUST YOUR GUT and YOUR BRAIN. Projections are BS. They are nothing more than a conglomeration of mathematical stats of the past, which can not predict the future. There are many times when players had high or low projections and ended up with something different. A computer can’t analyze a team’s passion or loss of morale. It can’t predict possible injuries. Moreover, it can’t compensate for unforeseen circumstances. However, you can. Read the rest of this entry »
