At a game this spring, just before the LABR draft, the Angels were playing the A’s at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. Callaspo trade signals end for one prospect, opening for another
The last straw for Brandon Wood owners may have come Thursday when the L.A. Angels acquired infielder Alberto Callaspo from the Royals for pitcher Sean O’Sullivan and minor leaguer Will Smith. Angels third basemen have a major league worst .216 average and .261 on-base percentage this season, with Wood the main culprit. He’s hitting just .168 with three home runs and 12 RBI in a career-high 173 at-bats.
