Fantasy Girl’s Bio!
Who said girls don’t like football! You’re looking at a FEMALE Yahoo Fantasy Football Champion in a 12-person money league and I have the shirt to prove it. I went up against 12 fantasy football veterans with more than 10 years experience and beat them all! I also won a nationwide pick’em league beat out 6,000 people for the correct picks for a one week period – twice! That wasn’t luck – it was skill. Not only am I a Yahoo Pick’em Champion, I’m also a Yahoo Salary Cap Champion.
My secret weapon for Fantasy Football? Simple: consistent players and waiver wire research. Although it’s nice to have big-name players, I’m a firm believer that if you have consistent players that put up consistent numbers every week, you can still win. I hate those players that have one phenomenal week and then the next week have dismal numbers; I’ll take mediocre numbers EVERY week thank you very much. Mark my words, you get players in every position with CONSISTENT “okay” numbers every week, you’ll make the playoffs. Just make sure your bench is just as deep with consistency.
Anyone who knows anything about football understands that injuries are bound to happen, which is why one needs to study injury lists and depth charts.
If your starter gets injured, it is imperative to have a back-up that can still make your team viable in the play-offs. Getting good players off the waiver wire can easily change your season and catapult you into the play-offs. Case in point, the year of my championship, 2006, I picked up Lee Evans (W1 for the Bills) off the wire early in the season; he ended up with consistent numbers week after week and becoming a top-ten wide out for the 2006 season. He wasn’t a big name in the beginning of the year, but he ended up getting consistent TDs. This Fantasy Girl’s waiver wire strategy: LOOKS & TOUCHES.
