SAN DIEGO (AP)—LaDainian Tomlinson(notes) has been ruled out of the San Diego Chargers’ home opener against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday due to a sprained ankle, just the second time the star running back will miss a start due to injury in his brilliant nine-year career.

If you haven’t already, try to get Sproles.  LT is an over rated has been.  Running backs his size don’t last too long in the big leagues.  If you drafted him like I did in round 1, just keep him in your back pocket for now.

This was a great team, with players like Vinatieri, Law, Bruschi, Brown, and others all of who would be a part of the team’s greater success during the next decade. Having had season tickets to the Patriots, I saw all of these players every time they set foot on the field at Foxboro, as they progressed from inexperienced rookies to Patriots legends. The NFL couldnt have scripted a better ending to their first nationally televised Monday Night Football contest of the year. New York Giants rookie Tommie Hill returned a fumble 18 yards for a touchdown with 0:00 on the clock to break open a tie game and give his team a 24-17 victory over the Carolina Panthers in NFL preseason action .

Carolinas fourth string QB Hunter Cantwell was in a position where he just had to take a knee and run out the clock on first and 10 from his eighteen yardline. Instead, he tried to throw a pass only to have his arm hit forcing a fumble. Hill grabbed the loose ball and headed to the endzone for the shockingly bizarre finish and a Giants victory. This year I had the unique honor of drafting first in one league, as well as the unlucky honor of drafting last in one league.  Normally this wouldn’t be that big of a deal and just a coincidence, but there is an added twist to this story that makes it great for using as a test case for fantasy football draft research and how it effects teams.  It wasn’t just my team that had this coincidence this year, but FantasyGirl also plays in both leagues and had the exact same draft spots but in reverse leagues.  The league I drafted first, she drafted last, and vice-versa in the other league.  This makes for an interesting observation of how the fantasy football draft research can make or break your season before you’ve even had a chance to pick.
